About Arcana Oracle
Last updated 2026-09-05
Arcana Oracle is an independent tarot experience maintained by Huanyi Xie, in English, Chinese and Japanese. Its current focus is a guided, symbolic conversation with AI, one question at a time.
Where the texts come from
Every card meaning, hexagram commentary, stick interpretation, sign profile and number profile on this site was written for it. The I Ching judgments and images follow the classical Wilhelm and Legge readings, rewritten in modern language. The Guanyin stick poems are reproduced in the original Chinese alongside a working translation. Nothing is scraped.
How the AI readings are made
When you ask for an AI reading, the symbols you actually drew — with their localized names and our own keyword lists — are sent to a language model together with your question. The model is instructed to read those specific symbols, in your language, without inventing new ones. It is a writing tool applied to a fixed draw, not an oracle in its own right.
Card images
The 78 card images are the Rider-Waite-Smith deck published by William Rider & Son in 1909, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith. The deck is in the public domain and the scans come from Wikimedia Commons.
