The Master Builder
Profile
Twenty-two combines the intuition of the Eleven with the practicality of the Four, and it is traditionally the most capable number: a dreamer who can read a budget. Twenty-twos see a large possibility and then, unusually, do the unglamorous work required to make it exist — the schedule, the funding, the team, the ten years. What you build tends to serve many people and to outlast your own involvement in it: institutions, companies, buildings, systems, bodies of work. The pressure is proportional. The gap between the scale of what you can imagine and the slowness of real life produces long stretches of frustration, and many Twenty-twos work as a very competent Four for years before the bigger structure comes into view. Perfectionism, control and overwork are the risks, along with a reluctance to start until conditions are ideal. The work of a Twenty-two is patience with ordinary steps, and delegation that lets other people carry part of the vision.
Love
You are steady, committed and protective, but work can quietly take the best hours. A partner needs your presence, not only your provision. Share the plan and the worry, let yourself be seen mid-struggle, and keep a life that is not the project. The relationship should be one of the structures you are building, not the thing you postpone.
Career
Large-scale work suits you: founding organisations, architecture, engineering, public projects, systems, long-horizon business. You can hold a vision and a spreadsheet at the same time, which is rare. Build a strong team early, because the scale you are drawn to cannot be carried alone for long. Choose collaborators who can be trusted with the parts you cannot personally oversee.
Challenges
Enormous self-imposed pressure is your standing difficulty, together with perfectionism and a habit of waiting for perfect conditions. Break the vision into stages you can actually finish, mark the intermediate ones, and accept that a version built with other people will be different and probably better. Start before conditions are ideal, because they never quite become ideal.
In a sentence
Twenty-twos are the people whose ten-year plan turns out, uncomfortably often, to have been accurate.
