The imagery

A great golden wheel turns in a blue sky, marked with the letters TARO and with the alchemical signs for mercury, sulphur, salt and water. Around its rim ride three figures inherited from older versions of the card: a sphinx with a sword resting at the top, the jackal-headed Typhon descending on the left, and a rising snake on the right. In the four corners float a winged man, an eagle, a lion and a bull, each reading a book: the fixed signs of the zodiac, the still points around the movement. Nothing in the image touches the ground. The card is about cycles rather than luck, the turning that lifts and lowers everyone in time, and the calm centre from which that turning can be watched.

Upright

General

The wheel turns and your circumstances change, often faster than expected and usually in your favour. A cycle is completing and another beginning; chance, timing and coincidence are unusually active. What has been stuck starts moving. This is a card of good fortune, but its deeper teaching is perspective: everything here is in motion, so hold both the good stretch and the hard one a little more lightly. Be ready to act when the opening appears, because these moments are not indefinite. Notice the pattern you keep returning to, and decide whether to ride this turn or step off it.

Love

A turning point, often an unexpected one. Chance meetings, reconnections and sudden shifts in how a relationship feels are all typical. If things have been stagnant, expect movement. Fate seems to be involved, but the outcome still depends on what you do with the opening. Notice repeating patterns in who you choose, because the wheel will keep offering the same lesson until it is learned.

Career

Luck swings your way. An unexpected opportunity, a change of role, or a project that suddenly comes good after a long flat period. Say yes quickly if it fits, since timing is the whole point of this card. Keep flexible plans and be willing to adapt, because the situation you are in now will not look the same in six months. Position yourself for what is coming.

Money

An improvement in circumstances, sometimes from an unexpected source: a refund, a windfall, a change in rates or a piece of good timing. Take the gain and put some of it aside, because wheels turn both ways. Avoid gambling on the assumption that a lucky streak is a strategy. Set aside a portion before the next turn.

Reversed

General

The turn is going the other way, or refusing to happen at all. Reversed, the Wheel brings delays, bad timing, or a cycle you keep repeating without recognising it. Resistance makes it worse: the more you insist that things should be different, the longer the stretch feels. Look for what is actually within your control, which is usually smaller and more useful than it seems. If a pattern is repeating, this is the moment to break it deliberately rather than waiting for circumstance to do it for you. The wheel always moves again.

Love

Bad timing, stalled momentum or the same disappointment arriving in a new form. Reversed, this card suggests looking honestly at your part in the pattern rather than at the luck. If a relationship keeps circling the same argument, change your own move. Where an ending is happening, resisting it prolongs the pain. Let the cycle close so a new one can start.

Career

Setbacks, delays or an opportunity that slips away. Reversed, the Wheel asks for patience and preparation rather than force, since this phase does pass. Use the slow period to build skills or tidy the foundations. If you keep landing in the same kind of job trouble, examine the choice you make each time rather than the employers. The variable you can change is yours.

Money

An unwelcome turn: an unexpected bill, a market dip or a run of small expenses. Reversed, this card advises defensive management, building a buffer and postponing risk until things stabilise. Avoid trying to win back a loss quickly. Steadiness through the low part of the cycle is what leaves you ready for the high one.

Advice

Move with the change instead of bracing against it.

Affirmation

I meet each turn of the wheel with an open, steady heart.
