The Judgment
Pushing Upward has supreme success. One must see the great man; fear not. Departure toward the south brings good fortune. Wood grows within the earth, rising steadily and without haste, adapting to every obstacle it meets. Advance is certain here, but only through accumulation: small efforts repeated faithfully until they amount to real height.

Within the earth, wood grows upward: the image of Pushing Upward. Thus the superior man of devoted character heaps up small things, one after another, in order to achieve something high and great.
Interpretation
You are in a phase of genuine but unglamorous ascent. Nothing about it is dramatic; it works the way a tree works, adding a little each season, going around stones rather than through them, and eventually standing far above where it began. The encouragement of this hexagram is unusually direct: go forward, seek out the person who can advise or sponsor you, and do not let anxiety hold you back. What it asks in return is consistency. Do the small correct thing daily, keep your attitude yielding and adaptable, and resist the urge to force a faster result. Growth here is compounded, not seized. It also helps to be honest about the ground you are growing in; if your environment cannot support you, the whole hexagram argues for moving toward better conditions, the auspicious southward journey. Look back in a year and you will be startled by how far this patient, undramatic method actually carried you.

Slow, steady deepening rather than sudden transformation. Keep showing up, keep being kind in small ways, and let trust accumulate. If the relationship is new, allow it to grow at its own pace; forcing a stage before its time is the only real risk here.
